Miraculous Miranda

Miraculous Miranda

Author: Siobhán Parkinson

Illustrator: Karen Radford

Age recommendation: 9+

My rating: 4/5

Favourite character: Miranda

Comments: Indescribable, impossible, incredible. Miranda goes through hard times when her sister gets seriously ill. But Miranda is the creator of an indescribable, impossible, incredible world of her own. This book shows the good that comes from darkness. Will Miranda's miracles come true?

Main characters: Miranda, Gemma, COR, Gran.

Synopsis: Gemma, Miranda's elder sister, has to go to hospital in Dublin. As Miranda is cast into her Gran's care she begins to map out a secret place in her head. Somewhere to escape to, somewhere miraculous. When not everything goes to plan, will Miranda and her miracles keep standing strong?

Review: This book is imaginative and isn't like any other book I've ever read: it tells the truth and doesn't cut corners. You see the world from Miranda's point of view. This book is miraculous. At least it has worked miracles on me anyway. It has introduced me back to the world of imagination. How I had missed it. You probably will too so I'll let you go off and read the book.
